Jesus said, "I promise you that you cannot get into God's kingdom, unless you accept it the way a child does" (Mark 10:15, CEB). We are not to be simpletons but believing. "Without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that He rewards everyone who searches for Him" (Hebrews 11:6).
For the Child that is in All of Us
(For a young child:)
They tell me, at school
That we came from an ape,
And I’ve got to be grateful for knowing,
They seem to be sure
That we came from an ape,
But they don’t seem to know
Where we’re going.
It seems more important, to know who I am
And what I am going to be
But of this they’re not certain,
They’re really not certain,
What, will become, of me.....
(For an older child:)
They tell me at school
That this earth’s spinning round
as it orbits it’s way ‘round the sun,
And balanced by two great mathematical laws
Its predictable course will be run,
And there are just billions more planets and stars
Moving round at incredible speeds.
Each one on its course, every one in it’s order
Could all this just happen to be?
Just happen to happen - why isn’t there chaos?
How could it just happen to be?
Or - is there a reason.... a wonderful reason....?
A person. Who planned it to be......
